Star Indian batsman and former captain Virat Kohli has been going through an extremely poor form. His struggle with the bat can be gauged from the fact that the last century he hit came way back in 2019. Kohli's performance in the recently concluded Test match series against England wasn't impressive either as he could manage only 11 and 20 in Edgbaston Test, while in the two T20Is he scored 12 runs in total.

Looking at his lean patch, there were talks of dropping Kohli from the team till he gets his form back. However, there are some, like BCCI President Sourav Ganguly who back the batsman. Ganguly has expressed confidence in Virat Kohli returning to form soon and scoring big runs.

"Of course, look at the numbers he has got in international cricket that doesn't happen without ability and quality. Yes, he has had a tough time and he knows that. He has been a great player himself. He himself knows by his own standards it has not been good and I see him coming back and doing well. But he has got to find his way and become successful, which he has been for the last 12-13 years or more and only Virat Kohli can do that, " said Ganguly speaking on Virat Kohli's form with news agency ANI,

On being asked about calls being made to drop Kohli from the team by legends like Kapil Dev, Ganguly said "poor form is part and parcel of the game and will happen to everyone'.

"These things will happen in sport. It has happened to everybody. It has happened to Sachin, It has happened to Rahul, it has happened to me, it has happened to Kohli. It is going to happen to future players. That's part and parcel of sport and I think as a sportsman you just need to listen, be aware of what it is and just go and play your game, " explained Ganguly, while speaking to ANI.

Meanwhile India is all set to take England in the second ODI match at Lords in London today. The first game was won by the men in blue by 9 wickets.
