India vs West Indies 2nd Test Day 3 Highlights: The Day 3 saw Indian bowlers toil hard for wickets as hosts West Indies looked in no rush to score runs. 67 overs were bowled on the third day, 143 runs scored and four wickets fell - West Indies still trail India by 209 runs. It will be a real surprise if the lifeless pitchon on offer in Trinidad gets any rating other than ''Average'' from ICC. Debutant Mukesh Kumar bagged his maiden wicket for India in Tests by dismissing another debutant Kirk McKenzie in the first hour before it started raining heavily, forcing an early lunch. In the second session, West Indies batted for 34 overs and added mere 57 runs.

Indian bowlers struggled for wickets on the Trinidad pitch which had very less spin to offer on day 3. However, the middle session had one big moment as senior spinner R Ashwin's beauty castled captain Kraigg Brathwaite 75 off 235 balls) - a breakthrough India was desperate for. Another wicket India bagged was of Blackwood (20 off 92 balls) in the final session - courtesy Ajinkya Rahane's stunning one-handed catch off Ravindra Jadeja's bowling. Windies started building another partnership to bounce back but their plan was crushed by Siraj who cleaned up Joshua Da Silva at the stroke of another rain break. The play resumed after rain stopped and the batting pair of Athanaze-Holder ensured no further fall of wickets by the end of day's play.

The home team batters were over-cautious and a draw seems an inevitability. The track on offer here is a poor advertisement for Test cricket.
