IND vs WI 2nd T20I: Hardik Pandya-led young Indian cricket team succumbed to back-to-back defeats at the hands of hosts West Indies as they lost IND vs WI 2nd T20I at Guyana's Providence Stadium on Sunday (August 6). For the first time since 2015, West Indies defeated the 'Men in Blue' in two consecutive T20 International matches. The series hanged in 1-0 balance before the 2nd T20I but now West Indies have a 2-0 lead in the five-match T20I series. Alzarri Joseph and Akeal Hosein starred for the hosts while star player Nicholas Pooran rattled Indian bowlers with his brilliant knock with the bat.

Nicholas Pooran's (67 runs off just 40 balls) fiery innings took West Indies closer to victory but as he fell, his team had a massive stutter. West Indies lost four quick wickets in just two runs, needing their tail-enders to fire in death overs. In what then turned out to be a dramatic finish, Akeal Hosein and Alzarri Joseph added 26 runs for 9th wicket to take West Indies home.

On the fifth ball of the 19th over, Akeal Hosein hammered Mukesh Kumar for a boundary, scoring the winning runs for West Indies. The spinner then brought out ‘shut the noise’ celebration as Windies dugout erupted in joy.

Player of the Match Nicholas Pooran said after West Indies win in 2nd T20I that he always aims to finish the games for his team and entertain fans.

"Satisfied that I performed. Something that I have been looking for in the last couple of years, so be there and finish games. I want to be consistent. I have been working so hard, I have made a lot of mistakes, and lost a lot of games for my teams. I want to entertain the fans as much as possible. It’s about being positive and confident," Nicholas Pooran said.
