Ahead of the India vs Bangladesh T20Is, the national selectors have included young fast bowling sensation Mayank Yadav in a special camp at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru. The three-match T20I series is all set to get underway with a T20I in Gwalior on October 6. The same has been confirmed in a report carried by TOI which suggests that the camp is limited only to a few players which includes the likes of Hardik Pandya, Riyan Parag and Abhishek Sharma.
Notably, Mayank has been at the NCA since the IPL due to a recurring side strain. Mayank made a name himself in IPL 2024 when he clocked 156 kmph in his first two matches in the tournament and it now seems like the senior selection committee led by Ajit Agarkar has identifed Mayank as one of the stars whom they can groom to be a star of the future.

Mayank Yadav Bowling Full Tilt At The NCA
Mayank plied his trade for the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in the IPL. He has reportedly recovered from his injuury and is bowling at full intensitt at the NCA.
"Mayank hasn't complained of any pain over the last month or so. He is bowling full tilt at the NCA. The selectors are interested to see how ready he is for international cricket. With the long Test season ahead, the selectors are keen on trying new faces for the T20Is against Bangladesh. Pandya has not played competitive cricket for nearly a couple of months. Even Abhishek needs some quality practice," a BCCI source was quoted as saying by TOI.

"Mayank is bowling close to 20 overs with the white ball in three separate spells in a day. There is a strong chance of selectors picking him for the Bangladesh series after seeing him in the camp at NCA. Agarkar is slated to travel to Bengaluru to attend the inauguration of the new NCA," the source added.
The report further claims that while Mayank Yadav could get a clearance for the Ranji Trophy, he would be asked to travel with the Indian team who will be hosting New Zealand for a three-match Test series.
