Team India recently ended their long ICC title drought by clinching the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2024 in the USA and West Indies. However, given the stature and reputation of that side, there is a popular belief that Team India have underachieved when it comes to winning world titles. Now that they have finally managed to win one such trophy in 11 years, Rohit Sharma & Co. would be hoping to add many more titles to their credit in the years to come.


The next ICC trophy that the Men in Blue are eyeing would be the ICC Champions Trophy scheduled in 2025 in Pakistan. While there are reports which have claimed that India migh not travel to the South Asian country owing to the strained political relationship between the two countries, the world cricket governing body is now looking to find a solution to the problem.

"The tentative schedule is important because it involves the Indian team being based in Lahore and playing all their matches in the city. The delegation which includes their ICC Security Manager would also get briefings from security officials in Pakistan," a source close to the proceedings told PTI.

Notably, a delegation of the ICC are currently in Pakistan to discuss the tentative schedule for the competition which includes India's matches that will be played in Lahore.

However, they will also have a talk over the scenario where the Government of India refuses to send India to Pakistan for the ICC tournament. Having said that, there is no official confirmation yet and as of now the the tournament hosting rights as well as all the matches, including those involving India, are scheduled in Pakistan.
