Jasprit Bumrah and Shreyas Iyer Return: In a big boost for Indian cricket team ahead of ODI World Cup 2023, India's premier fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah and star middle-order batter Shreyas Iyer are expected to make their blockbuster comeback for the national team in the upcoming India vs Ireland T20I series, Indian Express reported. Bumrah, currently doing rehab in Bengaluru's National Cricket Academy (NCA), has been away from cricket since September 25, 2022. Team India will play a T20 series against Ireland before 2023 Asia Cup. India and Ireland will play a 3-match T20 series from 18th to 23rd August.

Bumrah had undergone surgery in March due to his back injury. As per the Indian Express report, the star pacer started bowling in the nets last month and is now bowling 8-10 overs with full force. Bumrah is one of the key players for team India in the upcoming 2023 ODI World Cup, and before the mega ICC event, BCCI wants their premier pacer to play some competitive cricket to prove his match-fitness. Before making India comeback, Bumrah might play some practice matches in NCA.

Meanwhile, Shreyas Iyer missed playing India vs Australia ODI series, World Test Championship Final and the entire 2023 IPL season due to his lower-back injury. As per latest update, Iyer is making fast recovery. He recently said that he does not know when he will make his return. As per the report in Indian Express, along with Bumrah, Shreyas Iyer, in all likelihood, will make his India comeback with Ireland tour.

India vs Ireland T20 series will begin on August 18, while the other two matches will be played on August 20 and 23, respectively. All three T20 matches will be played in Malahide, on the outskirts of Dublin.
