The Men in Blue skipper Rohit Sharma attained a new feat in the T20I format as he surpassed Yuvraj Singh and is now India’s highest six-hitter in T20 World Cup history.

The Indian skipper achieved this milestone when he smashed his third six against the Netherlands on Thursday.  Earlier, former India cricketer Yuvraj Singh made a record for the most sixes by an Indian batsman with 33 sixes in his kitty in T20 World Cups.

In the ongoing match against the Netherlands, despite a slow start, Rohit Sharma batted well and went on to score a fifty at Sydney Cricket Ground.  He hammered four boundaries and three sixes and ended up scoring 53 off 39 balls.

Virat Kohli and Suryakumar Yadav also amassed fifties and built a 95-run stand for the third wicket. Kohli scored 62 off 44 balls and hit his second consecutive half-century of this tournament. Surya came up with a quick-fire 51 off just 25 balls and India ended up scoring 179/2 in 20 overs.
