India Eliminated: India have been knocked out of the semi finals race in ICC Women's T20 World Cup 2024. India's elimination from the marquee event was confirmed after New Zealand beat Pakistan by 54 runs at the Dubai International Stadium on Monday (October 14). The White Ferns join Australia as the two teams to proceed to the knockouts from Group A. By winning their last league fixture, New Zealand eliminated both India and Pakistan from the tournament.

India lost to Australia in their last group-stage fixture, resulting in their fate getting out of their hands. After the loss to Australia, the Harmanpreet Kaur-led side needed Pakistan to beat New Zealand for India to advance to the semifinals. A win for Pakistan would have left India, New Zealand and Pakistan tied at four points each in Group A, and India's superior net run rate (NRR) would have secured their place in the knockouts.

However, if Pakistan had chased the target of 111 runs set by New Zealand in the PAK vs NZ match within 10.4 overs, they would've secured their place in the semi finals, knocking India and New Zealand both out by leapfrogging both the teams' NRRs.
