A lot of credit of India's victory must be given to its bowlers, especially Raj Bawa (5 wickets) and Ravi Kumar (4 wickets). India  U19 restricted England U19 for a manageable score of 189 runs. Even this score looked impossible at a point when England was 91/7.

James Rew (94) and James Sales (35) 8th wicket partnership took England U19's score above 150. Indian bowlers did a splendid job, and now it was left to the batters to score 190 runs.

India started slowly, but vice-captain Shaik Rasheed scored a half-century and was caught out trying to play an expansive shot. After his wicket, skipper Yash Dhull also got out, but it was Raj Bawa and Nishant Sindhu who steered India home with a well-made partnership for the 5th wicket.

India's winning moment came when Dinesh Bana, the wicket-keeper hit a six over long-on, a similar way of ending the final as MS Dhoni in the 2011 World Cup final.

"Proud moment for India, that we have managed to achieve this. It was difficult at the start to get the combination right. but as time went we became a family and the team atmosphere was good. Great moment to be playing under this lot of support staff," said Yash Dhull after collecting the Trophy.
