INDW vs SLW, Asian Games 2023 match Highlights: Today in the 9th Asian Games, the Indian women's cricket team will square off against Sri Lanka in the cricket event final i.e. the Gold Medal match at the Hangzhou Asian Games Cricket Field, located in the Pingfeng Campus of the Zhejiang University of Technology. If India beats Sri Lanka in IND-W vs SL-W Asian Games 2023 final, the 'Women in Blue' will clinch the gold medal for the first time ever. India women's cricket team is participating in the Asian Games for the first time and would like to create history by winning the gold medal. India had defeated Bangladesh by eight wickets in the first semi-final, while Sri Lanka beat defending champions Pakistan by six wickets in the second semi-final to set up blockbuster summit clash against India. For the third place i.e. bronze medal match, Bangladesh defeated Pakistan to secure a bronze medal even if they lose to India women's cricket team in today's final.
Today will be the first time ever when either Indian women's or men's team will be playing the final of the Asian Games. The match will start at 11:30 am Indian standard time.
India's journey to the final has been quite impressive. For the unversed, India women's cricket team were given a direct entry into the quarter-finals on the basis of their higher ranking in T20 World Cup. India started their campaign with a match against Malaysia, which was abandoned due to rain. India were declared winners due to their superior ranking.
