Right-arm pacer Mohammed Siraj, revealed how former skipper MS Dhoni mentored him in order to achieve the dream of his life. After an impressive outing with India A, claiming 10-wicket haul against both opponents Australia A and South Africa A; the 24-year-old was rewarded with a maiden call-up for the upcoming two-match Test series against West Indies on Saturday.
"It is a dream come true for me. I wanted to represent my country in Tests and I knew I will be able to impress the selectors someday. I am so happy. I have done well for India A recently and had an idea about my selection in the test team," Siraj told Timesofindia.com in an interview.
Siraj also expressed how Virat Kohli and MS Dhoni guided and advised him during his run for India during the T20 series against New Zealand, last year, which helped him to attain a place in the Test squad.
"When I was selected for T20Is against New Zealand last year, I had a chat with Kohli bhai. I was nervous. He said "Tension Mat le, ground pe baat karengay. Bass ready reh kal khelne ke liye"(Dont worry, we will talk o the field. Just be ready for your debut match),".
India will play the opening Test against West Indies on October 4 at the Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Rajkot.
