New Delhi: Former Indian cricketer Virender Sehwag was shocked over the sheer accuracy of a fan's prediction of Virat Kohli's dismissal in his 100th Test.

In a Twitter post on Friday, the fan predicted the score on which Virat Kohli would get out, the mode of his dismissal and the reaction of the batsman. The fan also said Kohli won't score a century in his 100th test.

Interestingly, all of it transpired almost in a similar manner on the opening day of the first Test against Sri Lanka in Mohali on Friday.

"Kohli won't score a 100 in his 100th test. Will score 45 (100) with 4 gorgeous cover drives and then Embuldeniya will knock his stumps over and he'll pretend to be shocked and will nod his head in disappointment," the user tweeted on Friday.

Virat Kohli missed out on a half-century in his landmark 100th Test as he was bowled out for 45 by left-arm spinner Lasith Embuldeniya after he shared a 90-run stand with Hanuma Vihari.

In the 44th over, Embuldeniya produced a moment of brilliance as the ball landed on a bare patch and spun past Kohli's bat to disturb the stumps.

After the dismissal, Kohli stood there in disbelief before making the long walk back to the pavilion -- just like the user predicted.

Rishabh Pant hogged the limelight on the opening day of the first test as he blazed away to a 97-ball 96 to power India to 357 for six. Pant hit nine boundaries and four sixes in his whirlwind knock.

Ravindra Jadeja and Ravichandran Ashwin were batting on 45 and 10 respectively at the draw of stumps on day 1.

Embuldeniya was the pick of the bowlers for Sri Lanka, snaring two wickets while giving away 107 runs.
