Women's World Cup: The ICC Women's ODI World Cup 2022 began today, i.e. on March 4. The World Cup kicked off at 6.30 am. Against this backdrop, Google today also congratulated the women cricketers on the ICC Women's Cricket World Cup 2022 with a special doodle. Today's Google Doodle is dedicated to women's cricket.

As seen above, six female players are playing cricket in Google Doodle. The doodle also shows that the spectators are enjoying the game. The first match of the tournament is between New Zealand and West Indies on Friday. India's first match will be against Pakistan on March 6, 2022.


This year the competition will be held in New Zealand. This year's World Cup will feature 27 matches between eight teams. After which, the semi-finals will be played between the four teams according to the points table. The final will be played on April 3. All matches of this World Cup will be played in six cities in New Zealand.


In 2017, India came close to winning their first-ever World Cup when they lost to England by nine runs in the final. India also lost in the final in 2005 against Australia. 


The women's team is coming off a poor New Zealand series where the girls in blue lost an ODI series (1-4).
