IND vs SA 1st T20I LIVE SCORE: Hello And Welcome

Hello And Welcome to our live coverage of the 1st T20I between South Africa and India. The start of a new T20I series and a new for India.

Background

India's all-format tour tour of South Africa gets underway with the first of the three-match T20I series set to get underway in Durban on Sunday. India are coming off the back of a dominant 4-1 T20I series win over Australia. However, things will be very different in this away series for the Men in Blue as the summer is beginning to take over in the southern hemisphere. India's tour in the rainbow country is apparently the only men's international cricket action that is scheduled to be played in South Africa this summer which makes it all the more exciting for fans in that part of the World.

There are not too many T20I matches for either India or South Africa before they announce their T20 World Cup Squad set to happen in June next year and so from that perspective, this becomes a very important series for both India and South Africa. Not only do they have to the identify the players who can form the crux of the side in the World Cup, they will also have to give proper chances to everyone. For India, Shubman Gill returns to the scheme of things after the ODI World Cup and it would be interesting to see if he gets a game at the top of he order or whether the management continues with the opening combination of Yashasvi Jaiswal and Ruturaj Gaikwad.

Ravi Bishnoi was the Player Of The Series in the home T20Is against Australia for India which means the selectors just cannot ignore him now and he is likely to be an important player even in this series. As far as South Africa are concerned, this willl be a crucial series for players like Nandre Burger, Ottniel Baartman and Matthew Breetzke who would want to be in the reckoning for a place in the T20 World Cup.

All in all, this looks set to be an exciting game of cricket.
