Nottingham: We are in for a mouth-watering contest between bat and ball at Trent Bridge in Nottingham. Day 5 of the first Test between India and England awaits the cricket fans. From where the match stands right now, the first Test match could go either way.

India is chasing a score of 209 and has lost one wicket, that of KL Rahul. Virat Kohli's men have always shown a winning attitude and would look to score the 157 runs. In the erstwhile years, India might have thought of drawing this Test on Day 5, but the young team India is fierce and wanting to win.

As far as the scenario on Day 5 is concerned, India needs 157 more runs to win the Test match, but with bowlers like Ollie Robinson, Stuart Broad and James Anderson in their home conditions, the possibility of England picking up 9 wickets also cannot be ignored.

So far, India has played well in the Test match. Jasprit Bumrah picked up 9 wickets in the Test match, overall. The Indian batsmen will have to step up and show their best game, especially Virat Kohli and Cheteshwar Pujara. Pujara has started well by hitting three 4s in his 13 runs, so far.

How Things Stand:

Trent Bridge has been a happy hunting ground for India as the only Test win in 2018 came at this ground. The pitch has become slow and so are the outfield due to rain. India will go in the game thinking positively about the situation as Indian batsmen like Kohli have proven their mettle before.

From England's perspective, they will be looking to pick wickets early in the day to amount some pressure. As it is known, playing on Day 5 in England is not easy and the English bowler would be well aware of the vulnerabilities of the Indian batsmen.

The Weather Forecast is Cloudy and some rain is expected all throughout the day. We are in for yet another 'stop/start' day of Test cricket.
