India’s wicketkeeper KL Rahul took a blinder while taking part in the ongoing World Cup game against Bangladesh at the  MCA Stadium in Pune on Thursday. Rahul grabbed a brilliant catch off Mehidy Hasan Miraz in the 25th over and provided India a crucial breakthrough. India’s premium pacer Mohammed Siraj bowled a length delivery that ended up going down the leg side and Mehidy edged the ball with Rahul flying towards his left side to complete a blinder. Speaking about the game, the Indian team returned to the game after a terrific start by the Bangladesh openers. The likes of Tanzid Hasan (51) and Litton Das (66) built a 93-run partnership for the first wicket before Kuldeep Yadav got the better of Tanzid.

Ravindra Jadeja also joined Kuldeep and managed to put pressure on the visitors’ run rate which resulted in more wickets.  Currently, Mushfiqur Rahim and Towhid Hridoy are battling against the Indian bowlers after they lost four wickets. Earlier, Bangladesh stand-in skipper Najmul Hossain Shanto won the toss and decided to bat against India. They suffered a huge blow as the regular skipper Shakib Al Hasan was ruled out as he sustained an injury. As a result, Shanto has been named the skipper for the game against India.

Najmul Hossain Shanto at the time of the toss said, “ Proud moment for me and my family. We'd like to bat today. Looks a fresh wicket. If we put some good score, it'll be good for the team. He (Shakib) is struggling a bit, Nasum is coming in for him. We have some great memories against India, hopefully we continue our form. I hope it'll be a great match. We love to see the crowd, hopefully they'll support both teams. Hasan comes in for Taskin.”
