New Delhi: If Dhoni is known as ‘Captain Cool’, then Virat is just the opposite. The Indian Test captain may have toned down his aggression a bit but he is not very far from a banter or two.

England were rebuilding through Ben Stokes and Jonny Bairstow after India had ripped through their top order in the morning session of the third Test at Mohali. Post Lunch, Kohli introduced Jadeja to dry out the runs and the tactic did wonders when Stokes lost his patience and ran past a straight delivery off Jadeja to hand India their fifth wicket. The drama had just begun, Virat appeared to have said something to Stokes after his dismissal, which prompted the England all-rounder to turn around and reply. Virat was in no mood to back off as he signaled Stokes to carry his walk back to the pavilion.

The umpires intervened before things got out of hand and Stokes walked off after being dismissed for 29.

Earlier, England wicket-keeper batsman Jonny Bairstow had shown dissent when Kohli threw a ball towards the keeper but instead it hit his arms.

India are in firm control of the Third test match at Mohali after reducing England to 268/8 at stumps on Day 1. India lead the five-match series 1-0.
