Southampton: India vs New Zealand World Test Championship is heading towards becoming the best sad story of 2021 due to the constant rain delays. There were just 141 overs bowled till the end of Day 4. The constant delays have led to this match heading in the direction of a draw.
Former England captain Michael Vaughan, who is known for his antics on Twitter has yet again tweeted to irk the India fans. He suggested that if the match had taken place somewhere in the northern region - where there hasn't been any rain - then that would have saved a lot of minutes of play and New Zealand would have won the match.
Vaughan wrote: "If this #worldtestchampionshipfinal been played up north they wouldn’t have missed a minutes play … #Justsaying #INDvsNZ !! NZ would have been champions by now."
Although, this is not the first time Vaughan has said something like this. He has his own love-hate affair with Indian fans on Twitter. On June 18, the Day 1 of the WTC Final, Vaughan had commented something similar.
Meanwhile, it looks like the match is heading towards a draw. Although some ex-cricketers want the ICC to find a way to declare a winner in case of a draw, the proposition seems unlikely.

If the WTC final gets washed out by rain and ends without any result, then both India and New Zealand teams will be declared joint winners. The winning prize money will be divided equally between both the teams. 12 lakh dollars (INR 8.78 crore) each, will be given to both India and New Zealand.
