ICC T20 Word Cup 2021: Countdown To T20 World Cup Begins, Carlos Brathwaite To Launch Virtual Trophy Tour
T20 World Cup has been scheduled to be played in UAE and Oman from October 17 to November 14 this year. The Indian team would begin their journey in the tournament with a match against Pakistan.
ICC T20 Word Cup 2021: The International Cricket Council (ICC) has begun the countdown to the T20 World Cup starting October 17. The T20 World Cup is scheduled to be held in Oman and UAE. The ICC said a virtual trophy tour will be carried out ahead of the World Cup. The trophy tour would be inaugurated by previous Mens T20 World Cup star Carlos Brathwaite. West Indies player Brathwaite hit four consecutive sixes in the last over of the final against England at the Eden Gardens Stadium, helping the West Indies win the title in 2016.
A global trophy tour was canceled last year due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Instead, the ICC has urged cricket fans to take the trophy to countries where cricket is most played. ICC Men's T20 World Cup Trophy can be virtually accessed by visiting the official T20 World Cup Facebook and Instagram pages, the ICC said. The ICC would be holding an event on social media channels for fans, where fans can also register and win signed event merchandise.
