ICC CWC League 2 2023-27: Scotland's Charlie Cassell creates history, as the 29-year old pacer has registered the best ever ODI figures on debut. The feat was achieved on Monday, July 22, against Oman in the ongoing ICC CWC League 2 2023-27 and in the process, the Scottish player now breaks the long-standing record of South African veteran pacer, Kagiso Rabada.
Charlie Cassell registered the figures of 7/21 in 5.4 overs with one maiden over and has surpassed the previous best figures of 6/16 in 8 overs with three maiden overs, registered by Kagiso Rabada against Bangladesh in Mirpur on July 10, 2015.

Scotland Thumped Oman By 8 Wickets After Bundling Them Out In Double Figures
Scotland were on a roll in their ICC CWC League 2 2023-27 fixture against Oman, as they restricted them to the score of 91 inside 22 overs and were tasked to chase an easy target of 92. Charlie Cassell's historic spell completely eliminated Oman's chances of putting up a good score, as only 3 batters managed to get into double figures.
In reply, Scotland, expectedly, made light work of Oman and chased down the target within 18 overs, as the quick chase boosted the side's net run rate and they now sit third in the table with 7 points.
Skipper Richard Berrington smashed the winning boundary and Scotland are now one point shy of table toppers Canada.
