Hanuma Vihari's Career In A Nutshell

Hanuma Vihari has been a handy all-rounder and a vital commodity for India in Tests, as the Andhra captain made his way into the national side after a string of impressive performaces over the yearsin domestic circuit and even in Indian Premier League (IPL). The all-rounder, who made his Test debut for India against England at The Oval in 2018, has played 16 Tests, and has notched up 839 runs, at an average of 33.56, with 5 fifties and solitary hundred to his name.

The 30-year old made his IPL debut in 2013, with Sunrisers Hyderabad, who were themselves making their debut in IPL, after Deccan Chargers was discarded. The all-rounder played 3 season of IPL, 2 for Sunrisers Hyderabad, and his last season being the IPL 2019, with Delhi Capitals. He has notched up 284 runs in 23 innings, but has a dismal average of 14.2, alongside a sluggish strike rate of 88.47.

However, the number 3 batter for India in Tests (now out of favour) has been on a brilliant run from past couple of months, as he had a sensational Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2023, and had a good run in Ranji Trophy 2024, where his side Andhra bowed out to Madhya Pradesh in the quarter finals.
