Chennai Super Kings dished out a disciplined bowling performance under pressure to restrict Mumbai Indians to 149 for eight in the IPL final. However, thanks to Malinga’s last over heroics, MI managed to win the final  by one run as the winner-takes-all contest went to the wire and was decided in the last ball of the tournament.

In the post-match interview, MS Dhoni came up with a cheeky reply to clear speculations around his IPL future. The CSK skipper replied by saying "hopefully, yes", after Simon Doull asked him whether he will play in the next season.

"As a team we had a good season. But we need to go back and reflect on how we reached the finals. It's not one of those years where we played really great cricket to reach here," Dhoni said.

"The middle order wasn't great, and today it was very funny as to how both these teams were only passing on the trophy from one team to the other," he added.

The charismatic Dhoni said the focus will now shift to World Cup in England.

"It's too early to say right now (about next year's plans). Up next is the World Cup. That's the first priority. After that, we will chat about CSK. Nothing against the bowlers, but the batsmen could've done better. Hopefully yes, we'll see you next year," he said.
