New Delhi: Dwayne Bravo is the latest to join the ever growing list of international cricketers who will miss parts of IPL due to injury.
The Gujarat Lions all-rounder will not be available for the initial games of the tournament because of a hamstring injury.
"Dwayne Bravo was suffering from hamstring injury from past few months. We are expecting him to join us in India in 1st week of April. He may miss the initial couple of matches," Gujarat Lions franchise owner Keshav Bansal was quoted as saying by Cricbuzz.
Bravo hurt his hamstring while attempting a diving catch for the Melbourne Renegades in a Big Bash League match, since then the West Indian ace have been out of action.
Bravo’s absence will hurt Gujarat prospective as he was one of their main weapons with the ball in their debut season in 2016.
However, Bravo is expected to join the team after the initial couple of matches.
South African batsman JP Duminy and wicket-keeper Quinton de Kock have already been ruled out of the entire of IPL – both were Delhi Daredevils’ foreign recruits.
