Australia’s explosive batter Glenn Maxwell’s wife Vini Raman posted a glimpse of her traditional Tamil baby shower on her social media handle. Maxwell got married to Vini back in 2022 and announced their first pregnancy in May 2023. Maxwell’s wife shared a few snaps on her Instagram handle of the traditional Tamil baby shower which is called ‘Valaikaappu’. “Blessing baby Maxwell the traditional way #valaikappuceremony #bangleceremony,” wrote Vini Raman on her Instagram handle.
The couple had a traditional Tamil wedding on March 18, 2022, despite exchanging their wedding vows in Australia. The couple also followed it up by organizing a Christian wedding, and both of them shared pictures on social media to recall the event. Talking about Maxwell, the Aussie batsman had a below-average outing in the recently passed Vitality Blast 2023 where he managed to score 248 runs in 14 appearances at an average of 17.71. He could not make a single fifty during his campaign with Birmingham.
Ahead of the high-octane ‘The Hundred’, the all-rounder decided not to play the competition because of workload management. Cricket Australia issued a statement on the matter, citing the 2023 ODI World Cup for players to be fresh for the mega ICC event. Just like Maxwell, Mitchell Marsh also decided to opt out of the tournament and as a result, the London Spirit is now looking for two replacement players for The Hundred. The competition will start on Tuesday, August 1 and the summit clash will be taking place at the Lord’s Cricket Ground on Sunday, August 27.
Currently, the Australian team is taking part in the ongoing Ashes 2023 against England where the Kangaroos retained the Ashes series with one match to go. The 4th Test between both teams ended on a draw because rain played spoilsport.
