Gautam Gambhir Appointed India's New Head Coach: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has officially confirmed Gautam Gambhir's appointment as the new head coach of the Indian men's cricket team. Gambhir joins the Indian men's cricket team replacing Rahul Dravid whose three-year tenure with Team India finished after the conclusion of the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2024 in Barbados where India emerged victorious and ended their 11-year drought of a world title.


"It is with immense pleasure that I welcome Mr @GautamGambhir as the new Head Coach of the Indian Cricket Team. Modern-day cricket has evolved rapidly, and Gautam has witnessed this changing landscape up close. Having endured the grind and excelled in various roles throughout his career, I am confident that Gautam is the ideal person to steer Indian Cricket forward," the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) Secretary Jay Shah wrote in a post on X.

Gautam Gambhir Was Mentor Of KKR Team Which Won IPL 2024


Gambhir was the Team Mentor of Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) which won IPL 2024. While Gambhir was the captain of the side which won the championship in 2012 and 2014, only when he returned in coaching staff of the franchise did the team manage to clinch their third title. His influence at KKR is believed to have convinced the BCCI top-brass that he is the right man for the job. He will have big shoes to fill as under Dravid India played the ICC World Test Championship (WTC) final, an ODI World Cup final as well as the T20 World Cup final, emerging as the champions in the shortest format.
