Prithvi Shaw was confident of being selected in the team for the tour of Sri Lanka. Prithvi Shaw scored 827 runs in the Vijay Hazare Trophy and then performed well while playing for Delhi Capitals in the Indian Premier League. His performance has increased this chances to be in the team. 


Before leaving for Sri Lanka, Prithvi Shaw spoke on many issues including working with coach Rahul Dravid, his batting and discipline. Talking to The Indian Express, he said that with Rahul Dravid as a coach, discipline can be expected from everyone in the dressing room.  


Different kind of fun playing under Dravid's coaching


On playing again under the leadership of Rahul Dravid, Shaw said, "There is a different kind of fun under the leadership of Rahul sir. He was our India Under-19 coach. The way he speaks, the way he shares his coaching experience, is just amazing. Whenever he talks about the game, it shows how much experience he brings to the table. He knows everything about cricket. The way he describes the conditions and how to use them is just out of this world."


Dravid maintained contact even during unfortunate moments


Describing his conversation with Rahul, Shaw said that he spoke to him on the A tour. Prithvi Shaw said that when he was banned for doping, Dravid called and said it is a part of life, it is not my fault and I will come back stronger. It was nice that he talked to me even during my bad phase.


Discipline expected in the dressing room


Shaw said with Rahul sir being in the team, one will expect discipline in the dressing room. Shaw said that he is looking forward to the practice session with Dravid as he enjoys their conversation and can speak to him for hours. Shaw added, "this tour, I have to take advantage of the opportunity. I was desperate to get back in the Indian team." Shaw said that he was confident that he will be selected in the team.
