England's Spinners Shine As Wyatt-Hodge Leads With Bat
In what were challenging conditions for batters, England played with four spinners in Linsey Smith, Charlotte Dean, Sophie Ecclestone and Sarah Glenn and except for Ecclestone, rest three were amongst wickets.
After winning the toss and choosing to bat first, England, helped by openers Maia Bouchier and Danielle Wyatt-Hodge got the score of 118-7 in 20 overs. Except for the openers and wicket-keeper Amy Jones, none other batter could register the score in double digits.
Chasing 119, Bangladesh experienced a rocky start as they were reduced to 17-2 in 4.1 overs, having lost both their openers. Sobhana Mostary and Nigar Sultana tried to get the Bangladesh innings back on track but once the English spinners got a hold of them, there was no coming back for Bangladesh. Regular wickets meant they were playing catch-up with the required run-rate and ended their innings on 97-7 in 20 overs, losing by 21 runs.
Danielle Wyatt-Hodge for her well-made 41 was awarded with the Player of the Match award.
