DDCA Election: Rohan Jaitley has overtaken senior advocate Vikas Singh for the post of President at the Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA) elections, while the youngest son of former Delhi Chief Minister Late Sahib Singh Verma and first-class cricketer, Siddharth Verma is on the way to be elected its new secretary.


Vikas Singh, Jaitley's main opposition was reportedly supported by the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP).


As per the latest updates, more than 1658 votes were counted in favor of Jaitley. A total of 2524 votes were cast for this post in the election. This is seen as a comprehensive victory for Jaitley. 


Gautam Gambhir's maternal uncle will be the new treasurer


Gautam Gambhir's maternal uncle Pawan Gulati will be the new treasurer of DDCA. Counting of votes will be completed after the intervening night of Thursday-Friday but all of them have taken a decisive lead.


Siddharth made a big difference by overtaking Tihara


Siddharth has represented Delhi and Railways teams in the first class. He is the younger brother of Bharatiya Janata Party MP Parvesh Verma. He made a big difference by defeating the tainted candidate, Tihara. He was in Meerut jail for two months on charges of GST evasion.



Shashi Khanna forward to the post of Vice President


Rakesh Bansal, the younger brother of former BCCI vice-president Sneh Bansal, has finished third in the election for the secretary's post. Shashi Khanna, wife of former BCCI working president CK Khanna, was also on her way to continuing as the vice-president. This was the second time that Singh had to face a humiliating defeat for the post of president. Last time Singh had lost to senior journalist Rajat Sharma.
