New Delhi: Former Indian captain and the current BCCI President, Sourav Ganguly is celebrating his 49th birthday on Thursday, 8 July. Dada, as he is fondly known received wishes from all spectrums of life. Virender Sehwag, too posted a series of pictures to wish Sourav Ganguly.
Viru, in his element, posted an edited picture of himself and Ganguly. Ganguly was Sehwag's captain for five years and it is under dada that Sehwag flourished as an opening batsman. The Delhi batsman has time and again reiterated that Ganguly gave him the freedom to play his shots while Ganguly, in many interviews, has said that Sehwag never listened to his instructions and did what he always wanted to, i.e. to play expansive shots. But it was due to Sehwag's arrival in the team that team India's approach towards limited-overs cricket changed and Indian batsmen started scoring runs at a much higher strike rate.
Take a look at what Virender Sehwag posted on Sourav Ganguly's birthday:
Sehwag posted this edited image of him and Ganguly on a bike and wrote, "Dada ki gaadi mein savaar hoke, dada ke saath hi ride par. That’s what the ride was with @souravganguly for those 5 years. Wish you good health and happiness Dada in the coming year #happybirthdaydada"
This picture reverberates memories of Indian cricketers riding in a single-car on Ganguly's retirement:
