Cardiff: After the recent incident of seven members of England cricket team getting affected by Covid-19, a new-look England side is ready to face Pakistan in a three match ODI series from Thursday.
After the 7 members of England squad were tested positive for Covid-19, the entire team went into isolation and England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) had to pick a brand new 18-member ODI team captained by Ben Stokes. Out of these 18, nine players are uncapped, which means that they have never payed any international game before this series.
The new 18-member squad just got three hours of training before the start of the match. Even though the English team has a lot of individual talent, Ben Stokes has a heculean teask at hand to take the team together and discuss the game-plans with a unit that has never played together before. There are certain players like Ben Duckett, James Vince and Lewis Gregory in the side who's experience will also come handy for the team.
On the other hand, Pakistan will look at this scenario as golden opportunity to win an away series. They are back to playing international cricket after a interesting season of Pakistan Super League (PSL). The confidence would be sky-rocketed and they would want to grab this opportunity with both their hands.
