3-time champions Chennai Super Kings suffered a massive blow in the ongoing thirteenth edition of the IPL with their frontline all-rounder Dwayne Bravo being ruled out for the remainder of the tournament with a groin injury.

Chennai Super Kings' chief executive officer Kasi Viswanathan told ESPNcricinfo that Bravo has suffered a Grade 1 tear to his right groin and will be leaving the UAE on Thursday.

Bravo who sustained the injury during CSK's game against Delhi Capitals on October 17, had to miss out in Dhoni-led team's next fixture against Rajasthan Royals.

Bravo's injury came at a very wrong time for CSK as skipper Dhoni had to turn to spinner Ravindra Jadeja for bowling the 20th over. With 17 runs to win, DC all-rounder Axar Patel tonked three sixes to help DC seal a thrilling win.

Bravo who headed into the thirteenth edition of IPL at the UAE after winning the 2020 Caribbean Premier League title with Trinbago Knight Riders, has featured in 6 out of the ten league games for CSK. The seam all-rounder bagged six wickets in as many games.

CSK are reeling at the bottom of the IPL 2020 points table with just 3 wins from 10 games. With 4 more games to go, the 3-time champions face a potential threat of not qualifying for the knockout stages for the first time in the history of IPL.
