With their backs to the wall, Kings Eleven Punjab (KXIP) continued their resurgence in the thirteenth edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) by securing a 5-wicket win over table toppers Delhi Capitals at Dubai on Tuesday.
Kings Eleven Punjab's third straight win of the season meant that they pulled their way out of the bottom of the league standings and leapfrogged to the fifth place in the IPL points table.
Punjab now have 8 points in their kitty courtesy 4 wins and are closing in on Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) who sit a place above them on the fourth place.
The KL Rahul-franchise which was on the brink of elimination on the back of six losses in their first seven games has shown tremendous resolve and grit to upset Mumbai Indians, Royal Challengers Bangalore Delhi Capitals and a string together a hat-trick of wins at the business end of the tournament.
Delhi Capitals Hold Onto Pole Position Despite Their 5-Wicket Loss To Kings Eleven Punjab
Delhi Capitals who suffered only their third loss of the season in 10 games, still hold onto their pole position in the points table with 14 points in the bank. Iyer-led Delhi franchise who registered a spree of wins in the opening half of the tournament, need just a win more to qualify for the play-offs.

Defending champions Mumbai Indians are second on the points table behind Delhi Capitals with 12 points. Mumbai also look strong contenders to book a place in the playoffs in Season 13.
Third-placed Royal Challengers Bangalore who take on Kolkata Knight Riders later in the evening would look to close in the gap with the front-runners and overtake Mumbai Indians. Meanwhile, KKR would like to break away from the mid table clutter and inch closer to a knockout berth win a win over Kohli's Red Brigade.
