Chris Gayle is easily one of the biggest match-winners of the T20 format of the game. The southpaw's ability to clear any ground in the world with ease made him a threat for even the best bowlers in world cricket. Even after retiring from international cricket, Gayle is continuing to make an impact with the bat in the limited-overs leagues that he has been playing in and the latest example was in the Legends League Cricket.

The T20 tournament meant exclusively for retired cricketers features some of the world's top players in Gayle, Gautam Gambhir, Aaron Finch, Tillakaratne Dilshan, Eoin Morgan and Shahid Afridi among others. Match number 3 of the competition on Monday witnessed, Afridi-led Asia Lions face Finch's World Giants at the West End Park International Cricket Stadium in Doha.

The World Giants chose to bowl first in this 10-overs a side game in which Asia Lions managed to score 99 for 3 in 10 overs. Misbah-ul-Haq was the best batter for the Lions as he finished with an unbeaten 44 off 19 deliveries.

In response, the chasing team could only score 64/5 with Gayle top-scoring for them with 23 off 16. However, even in his brief stay at the crease, Gayle showed glimpses of his prime self and scored three back to back sixes off Dilshan, the video of which was shared by the official handle of the tournament.

Even though there are many matches left in this competition, as of now it is the Asia Lions who are on top of the points table with two out of two wins. World Giants are at the second place with a win and a defeat so far while India Maharajas are yet to taste victory in this edition of the competition.
