Even as Cheteshwar Pujara remains one of Indian cricket's loyal servants, the right-handed batter, a veteran of over 100 Test matches, was overlooked for a place in India's squad for the West Indies tour following his low returns with the bat in recent times including the ICC World Test Championship (WTC) final. While even some of the other India batters do not boast of a healthy batting average in recent times, It was Pujara who was singled out as pointed out by several former cricketers and pundits including the legendary Sunil Gavaskar.

And now, hours after the squad announcement and Pujara's omission from the team, the senior batter has broken his silence. He took to social media to share a post. While he uploaded a video of himself practicing batting, he chose not to caption it with words but instead used a bat and ball emoji followed by a red heart emoji to convery his message. Pujara's post has gone viral on the internet with several netizens reacting to it.

"You’ll come back stronger Pujji Bhaai, best luck always," wrote one user.

"Comeback strong champion 💪💪" wrote another.

"We believe in you @cheteshwar1 ! the Sun will rise again." a third user commented.

Notably, this is not the first time that Pujara has been dropped. Before this also, he had been dropped when he was finding it hard to buy a run. However, on that occasion he had performed well in County Cricket to earn his place back in the side. With Pujara not going for the West Indies tour, he will feature in the upcoming Duleep Trophy for West Zone and will be available for selection from the first match itself. He would be eager to regain his spot in the Indian test side through some top-notch performances in this domestic competition.
