Indian cricket team suffered a crushing 1-3 defeat in IND vs AUS five-match Border-Gavaskar Trophy against Australia, losing IND vs AUS Test series after 10 years of dominance. The defeat in Sydney Test sealed India's fate, knocking them out from race to June's World Test Championship (WTC) Final.

Jasprit Bumrah, who had been India's key performer throughout IND vs AUS Border-Gavaskar Test series, was forced off the field due to a back injury on the third day of IND vs AUS Sydney Test. As a result, Bumrah was unable to bowl in Australia's second innings.

With ICC Champions Trophy 2025 starting in February, Jasprit Bumrah's injury raises concerns for India's chances. The tournament kicks off on February 20, and Bumrah's fitness will be key for India's success.

After BGT series loss, Bumrah shared his thoughts and update on how serious his injury is, saying, "This defeat is disappointing. But sometimes you have to give respect to your body. You cannot fight with your body. It was disappointing, perhaps I missed the most important wicket of the series. I felt a little uncomfortable during my second spell in the first innings."

Fans are now hoping Bumrah's injury is not too serious and that he will recover in time for ICC Champions Trophy 2025. Pakistan are the hosts for CT 2025 but India will play all their matches in Dubai. If India qualifies to knockouts, one of the two semi-finals will be played in Dubai. If India qualifies for the final, it will also take place in Dubai.
