Athapaththu produced a swashbuckling effort with the bat smashing 113 off just 66 balls to help Sri Lanka register their highest total in the format.
Batting first, the Australians got off to a breezy start in the powerplay smashing boundaries at will. Alyssa Healy, an onslaught on the Lankan bowlers by scoring a quick-fire 35 off 18 balls, before getting dismissed off the very next ball. Oshadi Ranasinghe then brought Sri Lanka back into the game with a double strike by getting rid of skipper Meg Lanning in quick succession.
However, a century stand between Mooney and Ashleigh Gardner ensured the Australians were on course to pile up a monumental 217 run total. While Gardner missed her half-century by one run, Mooney went onto register a century that had 20 fours in it.
