After the opening Day of the tour game between Board President's XI and South Africa got washed away due to rain, the  Proteas took command on the second day of the practice game at the ACA Sports Complex in Vizianagaram  by posting 199 for 4 at Stumps after  bad light halted play.

The commanding batting performance by the visitors was led by Aiden Markram who scored a well compiled ton to rebuild  the South African innings after the Indian bowlers made early inroads into their top order.

Markram was lent solid support by wicket-keeper batsman Temba Bavuma who struck a well poised half century (55). The right handed Markram scored his second first-class century on the trot. He scored 100 runs from 118 deliveries including 18 fours and 2 sixes before retiring out.

Umesh Yadav and Ishan Porel struck early to get the wickets of openers Dean Elgar and Theunis de Bruyn respectively. Dharamsinh Jadeja then cast a web around the Proteas by trapping skipper Faf Du Plessis and Zubayr Hamza leg before wicket.

The tour game serves as a practice game for both the sides before the series opener of the 3-match Test series between India and South Africa gets underway at Vishakapatman from October 2.
