Following a security assurance, Pakistan is all set to host the Sri Lankan cricket team for the first One-Day International on Friday (September 27). Pakistan skipper Sarfaraz Ahmed has already called this the highlight of his career.

Amid all the excitement, Pakistani fans, who have already waited for 10 years, have to wait for some more time for the toss to take place as the rain delayed the start of the first men's ODI in Karachi in over a decade.

The rain has played a huge spoilsport for team Pakistan, who looks forward to resumption of cricket on their home soil. Pakistan team management had urged the local fans to come out in huge numbers to support 'both the teams and cricket' as they expected to revive the national squad after the appointment of Misbah-ul-Haq as the new head coach.

The last match Pakistan hosted on its 'home soil' was a 50-over bilateral series against Zimbabwe in 2015.
