New Delhi: Duleep Trophy, a cricket tournament, which has been an integral part of Indian cricket from past 56 years, finds its place missing from the final draft released by the BCCI for Domestic season.



The Indian domestic season is scheduled to start with Ranji Trophy on October 6 and will end with Deodhar Trophy one-day tournament on 18 March 2018, according to Times of India



Earlier, BCCI chief secretary, Amitabh Choudhary had claimed that the Duleep Trophy will be played with the Pink ball and in same format s 2017.



However, the technical committee which approves the structure was left surprised with the exclusion



Speaking to the Times of India (TOI), one of the technical committee official added, “There must be some confusion. It was understood that the tournament will go ahead. Strange that the tournament and fixtures committee has overlooked it. This needs to be revisited before the schedule is released.”



BCCI changed the format in the previous edition to make maximum cricketer play with pink ball



It is also worth to mention that India A will play New Zealand A in September and with India’s ODI series against Australia with be difficult for the BCCI to make top 30-32 players available for the tournament .
