Australia Vs West Indies: Australia have announced their squads for Tests and One Day Internationals against West Indies for the upcoming series as they begin their preparation for an action-packed 2024 cricketing season. The reigning and undisputed champions of the world in both Tests and ODI's will be aiming to solidify their position in the current World Test Championship standings as they sit atop with 54 points in the two Test series they have played so far (The Ashes in England and three-match bilateral Test series against Pakistan at home).

The first Test of the two-match Test series against West Indies will start from January 17, Wednesday, at the Adelaide Oval in Adelaide and the current 'double-champ' skipper Pat Cummins will lead the team into the Test series. However, the captaincy of the ODI series will be handed over to Steve Smith after the conclusion of the Test Series as the New South Wales-based cricketer will get his much deserved rest.

Such is the balance and confidence of the Australian side that they have already declared Cameron Green as a sureshot starter in their playing XI for the upcoming Test match. Steve Smith earlier made an interesting comment about his batting position in the Test squad as he stated that he's ever-ready for the Aussies to represent them and bat at any number. With David Warner retired now, the current World Test champions will be looking to fill the void left by the retired legendary left-handed swashbuckling batsman.
