The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) Secretary, Jay Shah, and the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairperson, Zaka Ashraf, held a meeting on the sidelines of the ICC board meeting in Durban to discuss the Asia Cup schedule. According to sources, it has been confirmed that India will not be participating in cricket matches held in Pakistan, and instead, the highly anticipated India-Pakistan match of the Asia Cup will take place in Sri Lanka.

Sources also revealed that during the meeting, Jay Shah received an invitation to attend the Asia Cup 2023 in Pakistan, while Zaka Ashraf was extended an invitation to the ICC World Cup 2023 matches, which is slated to be held in India this year later.

The draft schedule for the Asia Cup is expected to be released soon, with four matches scheduled to be held in Pakistan and the remaining games in Sri Lanka.
