Agni Dev Chopra has started off Ranji Trophy 2024-25 on the same note from he left last season. The son of filmmaker Vidhu Vinod Chopra and film critic Anupama had famously grabbed headlines when he shattered records in his maiden season in India's premier first-class cricket competition. The left-handed batter, who plies his trade for Mizoram, had become the first batter to score centuries in his first four first-class matches.
And now in a brand new season, Agni has started in good form once again. While he registered scored of 51 and 29 in Mizram's match against Sikkim, he scored 110 in the first innings against Arunachal Pradesh before going on to smash a double hundred an unbeaten 238 in the second innings. Agni, who is set to turn 26 next week, slammed another double hundred in Mizoram's only innings against Manipur as they went on to register a win by an innings and 20 runs.
