Agni Dev Chopra has been in red hot form in his debut season of the Ranji Trophy. The son of film director Vidhu Vinod Chopra and film critic Anupama Chopra has set India's first-class domestic competition on fire, even going on to make a world record. The 25-year-old set a Ranji Trophy record when he scored hundreds in each of his first four first-class matches. He even bettered the feat by scoring a hundred in each of the two innings of his fourth match.

The left-handed batter is plying his trade for Mizoram this season. While he registered scores of 166 and 92 on his first-class debut against Sikkim where his team narrowly missed out on winning the match, he record scores of 166 and 15 in his next match against Nagaland. In this third first-class fixture against Arunachal Pradesh, he registered scores of 114 and 10. In his fourth match against Meghalaya, he scored a ton in each innings- 105 and 101.

Agni Chopra Record: Stellar Numbers In Domestic Cricket

On the back of a record run, Agni's first class numbers are incredible. Overall, he has played four matches so far in which he has accumulated 767 runs at an average of 95.87 that too at a strike rate of over 110.  He has accumulated these runs with the help of 5 tons and a half-century, having scored 101 boundaries already in this season of the Ranji Trophy to go with his 19 maximums.

It is pertinent to note though that Agni's runs have come in the Plate division of the Elite first-class cricket competition in India which might suggest that they have come against relatively weaker bowling attacks. However, the hunger to score runs and the consistency is all credit to the batter. Agni would look to continue the same form and try and breach the 1000-runs barrier in a season.
