AFG vs NZ In Greater Noida: The one-off Test match between Afghanistan and New Zealand in Greater Noida was all set to kick off on September 9 (Monday). While rain was expected to come and play a spoilsport at this venue which is hosting its first-ever Test match, it didn't rain on the opening day at all. However, the ill-equipped stadium was not deemed fit for play on Day 1 with not even the toss taking place.
Even though rain has stayed clear even on Day 2 so far, the teams are still in the hotels, such is the condition of the outfield with groundsmen spotted digging and trying all sorts of things to get the things up and running. However, conditions are still not fit enough for play and seems like even Day 2 will be washed out due to the poor outfield.

Afghanistan Not Happy With The Facilities In Greater Noida
Opportunities to play Test cricket come very rarely for Afghanistan which is one of the reasons why they are miffed with the drainage and other facilities at this venue.
"This is a huge mess, we are never coming back here. The players are also unhappy with the facilities here," an ACB official said as quoted in a PTI report.

"We had spoken with the concerned people well in advance and were assured by the stadium guys that everything will be in order (pertaining to the media facilities)," he added.
It remains to be seen if there is any cricket possible in this match or it will be washed out entirely. Even if play does happen, chances are that it could end up as a draw with so much time in the Test already wasted.
