New Delhi: Fit-again AB de Villiers will lead South Africa in 5 match ODI series against Sri Lanka on their Home soil, beginning January 28th.



AB de villiers, who has not played international cricket from June last year due to elbow injury will be available for the 3rd T20 against Sri Lanka before taking the reins of ODI team.



South Africa returns to action in 50-format after white washing Australia 5-0 in October 2016. 



De Villiers  opted out of Test cricket for most of 2017 in order to manage hi workload ahead of World Cup 2019. The 32-year-old has set his priorities clear and wants to lead his side in 2019 World Cup, with short term focus on Champions Trophy 2017.



Before heading to England for Champions Trophy, South Africa have 10 One Day Internationals games to play in 6 weeks. Proteas will host Sri Lanka for 5 ODI’s before travelling to New Zealand for another 5 matches.
