New Delhi: India’s veteran off-spinner, Harbhajan Singh has heaped praises on former Pakistan all-rounder Shahid Afridi for his nobel humanitarian gesture in helping out the poor and needy citizens amid the coronavirus pandemic in Pakistan. With the entire world affected by the global pandemic, sub continent neighbours India and Pakistan have forced a lockdown upon its citizens with cases of COVID19 on the rise in the past week. The ‘turbanator’ took to Twitter to applaud Afridi for his gesture and wrote: “Great work for humanity @SAfridiOfficial May god bless us all.. more power to you.. praying for world’s well being..hands Nanak Naam chardikala there change sarbat da bhala,”

“Since #CoronavirusPandemic has hit our country, major sufferers are those who suffer from Thalassemia. 28,000 units are required on a daily basis which are now at 3,000 – I request @ImranKhanPTI @zfrmrza @un @WHO to raise awareness abt this on how to safely donate for them,” Shahid Afridi, former Pakistan captain, wrote on Twitter.

Afridi, who has been helping the poor and needy for the past few days, donated disinfectant soap, material and food to peoplewhile also spreading awarness among them on the preventive measures to combat COVID-19. The former Pakistan captain, through the 'Shahid Afridi Foundation', has come out to lend a helping hand to those in need. He and the workers of his foundation have reportedly been doing door-to-door delivery of the essential goods. While India has reported over 500 cases of COVID19, Pakistan has witnessed over 900 cases of the novel virus, with as many as 7 people reportedly succumbing to the epidemic.
