Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday will engage with the Indian team leaving for the Commonwealth Games (CWG) 2022 via video conference, news agency ANI reported.
The prime minister's contact is a part of his ongoing efforts to inspire athletes before they compete in important sporting events.
Modi engaged both the Indian athletes travelling to the Tokyo 2020 Olympics and the Indian para-athletes travelling to the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games last year
The prime minister showed a deep interest in the participants' progress even throughout the athletic activities. He frequently called athletes directly to congratulate them on their accomplishments and honest efforts while inspiring them to perform better.
