This time the Indian contingent bagged 60 medals (22 gold, 15 silver, and 23 bronze medals) in CWG 2022. India has been consistently performing well in the Commonwealth Games. CWG 2010 was hosted by India in which it won a total of 101 medals.

1998 Commonwealth Games in Kuala Lumpur
The 1998 Commonwealth Games was organized in Kuala Lumpur in which India won a total of 25 medals. This was the first Commonwealth of the 20th century that was hosted in an Asian country. Overall India finished in the eighth position on medals tall, winning 7 gold medals, 10 silver medals, and 8 bronze medals in CWG 1998. Notably, team sports like cricket and hockey made their CWG debut in this edition.
2002 Commonwealth Games in England's Manchester
Multi-nation sporting event Commonwealth Games 2002 was held in England's Manchester. India performed remarkably well in this edition of the CWG, clinching a total of 69 medals (30 gold, 22 silver medals, and 17 bronze medals). Indian women's hockey won a gold medal in 2002. Indian shooters clinched 14 gold medals in CWG 2022. India won 11 gold medals in weightlifting and 3 gold medals in wrestling.
Commonwealth Games 2006 in Australia's Melbourne
India won a total of 50 medals in the Commonwealth Games 2006 held in Melbourne, Australia. India shooter Samaresh Jung won a total of 7 medals (5 gold, 1 silver, and 1 bronze medal), creating a Commonwealth Games record. Overall, India won 50 medals at CWG 2006 (22 gold medals, 17 silver, and 11 bronze medals).
2010 Commonwealth Games in India's New Delhi
India hosted the 2010 Commonwealth Games. India, hosting their first-ever Commonwealth Games, registered their best performance. India won the most medals in their CWG history in CWG 2010. In the 2010 Commonwealth Games, India won a total of 101 medals (38 gold medals, 27 silver medals, and 36 bronze medals). That year, India was second in the medal tally behind Australia and ahead of England by one gold.
2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow
India won a total of 64 medals in the 2014 Glasgow Commonwealth Games. Indian athlete Vikas Gowda (Men's Discus) scripted history by winning India's first gold medal in 56 years. In CWG 2014, India won 64 medals overall (15 gold medals, 28 silver medals, and 18 bronze medals).
2018 Commonwealth in Australia
India won a total of 66 medals in the 2018 Commonwealth Games. India finished third in the CWG 2018 medal tally. India won 26 gold medals, 20 silver medals, and 20 bronze medals in this edition of the Commonwealth Games. India emerged as the top performer in shooting, wrestling, weightlifting, badminton, and 2nd best in boxing.
