Gdansk: If Manchester Uniter is able to beat Villareal in the final of the Europa League, then it will be the first Trophy under manager Ole Gunnar Solsksjaer. Ole was appointed as United's manager in 2019 and this win might cement his place as the manager of Manchester United for at least the upcoming season.

Before the Europa League Final, Ole spoke with reporters in his pre-match press conference where he spoke fondly of United's ex-manager and legend Sir Alex Ferguson. “I’m sure the players if they wonder about something, can ask him and he’s always available for a chat because this is the club in his heart,” said Ole.

Ole has always reiterated the philosophy of Ferguson and wanted to replicate it in his team as well. Since Ole became the manager of Manchester United, the team has looked relentless, by not losing even a single away game in the entire 2020-21 season. United even equalled the record for scoring most goals in a match when they scored 9 against Southampton.

“It’s a team that we’ve rebuilt over the last couple of years, so hopefully this is the start of something more. These are big nights for us. It might be the stepping stone for something better to come, a bright future because this team is a young team,” Solskjaer said Tuesday.

The final of Villareal vs Manchester United will be played at 12:30 am on Thursday according to the IST. Villareal's manager is Unai Emery, who was appointed in July 2020. Before that Emery managed EPL club Arsenal.

“We have got answers from the team at some important moments of the season so we know now we have a very, very strong and robust team,” Emery said Tuesday.

“Of course Manchester United can be (the) favorite, they are very good and if they play their best they can beat anyone, but we will try and find some responses against this big team.”
