England selectors picked a 14-man squad for the upcoming 3-match T20 international series against Pakistan which gets underway from August 28 at the Old Trafford cricket ground in Manchester. Old Trafford cricket ground will play hosts to all three matches of the series.

The hosts shall once again be skippered by their seasoned shortest format captain Eoin Morgan, who was in breath taking form with the bat in England's last T20 international engagement with Ireland in late July. Apart from Morgan, experienced campaigners like Moeen Ali, Jonny Bairstow, Jason Roy, David Willey will form the nucleus of the 14-member side which takes on Pakistan.Meanwhile fast bowler Chris Jordan and David Malan have also made the cut in the squad.

Amidst the jam-packed international season for England which has forced the selectors to rest multi-format players, while no uncapped player was picked for the T20I series against Pakistan, the likes Tom Banton, Joe Denly, Saqib Mahmood and Lewis Gregory, who have just begun their T20I careers have been given an opportunity to showcase their talent and pedigree in the shortest format.

"In this crowded international summer, players who are at present, in the Test match bio-secure bubble for the Pakistan Test series are not included in this squad. The T20 Is begin three days after the scheduled last day of the final Test. We want to give multi-format players some opportunity to rest and refresh, while still selecting strong squads for every series. We will announce the squad for the Australia T20 series at a later date," said National Selector Ed Smith.

Middlesex all-rounder Liam Dawson along with batsman James Vince have been ruled out of the 2020 season.

England squad for Pakistan T20 Series: Eoin Morgan (captain), Moeen Ali, Jonny Bairstow, Tom Banton, Sam Billings, Tom Curran, Joe Denly, Lewis Gregory, Chris Jordan, Saqib Mahmood, Dawid Malan, Adil Rashid, Jason Roy and David Willey.
